TO BE OR NOT TO BE

Wow.. We have heard This Phrase for a few centuries now. Thanks to Will.
What does that mean to you? Think about it!!!

Remember this is a POV.  One of many that I have.  All of this may be a truth for you, some truth, not true.  That is where you are in your belief system.

Just the goings on around this world, makes me question so many of my thoughts and Beliefs. Take the new Pope. Is he a BE or a NOT BE?

I am going to make up a new word right now. NOTBE, shall be this word..

What about all of these noted people in the world? The celebrities, media experts, politicians, your boss, want to be the BE.  A lot of them, and I do know a lot of people that are notable in many different fields, like to play the humility card.  Why do so many of them have publicists? Most of these front page articles are very well planned.

Let’s talk Hollywood for a moment. Meryl Streep, Elisabeth Shue, Anthony Hopkins, Angela Lansbury, and yes, I could list a lot more. They are just working their craft. Just like an attorney  cobbler, doctor would do. Just because that is what they enjoy doing. We really don’t see them on front covers unless they have a movie or project coming. Then there are the others who are on a cover every single day. Taylor Swift,Justin Bieber, Beyonce’, the Jersey Shore group, the Kardashians. to name a few. If we did not see them on every magazine and magazine type show, where would they be? Don’t get me started on Michelle Obama announcing the winners at the Oscars.

Where does “Authenticity’ come in to play. Most who are truly authentic, are the BE’s who really just wanted to be the NOTBES. Mother Teresa, Dali Lama, Gandhi  William Shakespeare, to name a few. (Jesus, Mohammad, and Buddha will all have their own Blogs) They were just following their hearts, and things just happened to their lives that brought public attention..I remember working with, Hank Aaron.  We were chatting About a lot things, life, entertainment world, and of course, BASEBALL.  We talked of Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, which brought up ‘Marilyn’. (last name not needed), They had become Legends.  For some reason, my mouth just opened without thinking. (a thing I do well) I asked “What is it like to be a Legend? and, When you started playing Ball, did you set out to become a Legend? Before he could answer, I said, ‘Don’t give me false humility, because I know that you truly know that you are a Legend’..He smiled, looked around, (we were filming in Salt Lake City’s Baseball stadium) smiled, and he said; ‘No I did not set out for anything like that. I just loved the game, and wanted to be the best at what I do.’  I said well, you are a Legend now, how does that make you feel? Pretty damned lucky, he said, I brought up the ‘Rising star’ thing and how some of the newer celebrities/legends act is pretty deplorable. I can’t believe they don’t realize they are a role model for so many, and they do and say things that aren’t role model actions. He said when he realized he was a role model, that he had to change some things in public life. When he left his house he needed to be aware of his actions and words. He couldn’t even get the paper in the morning without thinking that someone might be watching.  He did not change who he was, but became aware that what he did could be misconstrued. He would love to see these ‘Stars’ realize what an obligation it was to have that kind on influence on others, especially the youth.

Authentic, YES, he was. A NOTBE that became a BE because of his integrity.

We all want to BE right. People exclaiming the have the truth. If you do it my way,  you will be successful. Look at all of the Religious Zealots out there. The corporations that tell you that they are the best.  I have had a lot of job interviews lately, and of course during the interview, they would tell me how great they are. They were on the cutting edge. They were voted to be the best company to work for. (when they used the word ‘for’ to end a sentence, it would make me cringe because it is a preposition). If all of those thoughts and statements are true or right, why then are we having such a hard time making things work.

We Just want to be noticed.  I will put myself in that category right now. I love attention, to a point. There are times when I don’t.  I truly dislike it when people would watch me work. Doing hair and makeup is a Zen type thing for me.  I do not need anyone watching me do this.. People would ask me if they can watch. Could they come to the set (film) to see how it all works.  No!!!! I don’t ask to see you do a 5 hour surgery procedure. Pick up Garbage. Make copies, work on a court case etc. You get my point.  But really, When is it all enough.  I will say that when I am doing a seminar or a class, I have a different frame of mind.

There will be more to come on this thought process. This IS just thinking about BEING, and what that might mean.

Don’t be afraid to question. Bring up a topic. This is what I want to see happen.

Thanks

Ken

We all have our own reality.  We all can be at the same event, and yet the final outcome from talking with others about their experience, could be dramatically different.

If you have thoughts about anything, let us question those queries.

There is so much out there that we Think blocks us.  We are the only thing that blocks us.  Become the palm tree that can withstand so many natural elements.  Be willing to bend. Remember, winds come in from all directions

Creating what you want.  You have what you want.  That is apparent in your everyday life.  If you want something, change your belief that you can have it.  We are all creators.  Creating is inherent to all of us.  Our egos get in the way and stop us from loving what is.  Everything in our lives are made up, so why not make up something that can serve you in your quest for love and harmony.

Hello there.
